Jewish and Nazi Vienna
The tour starts at the University of Vienna giving examples of important Jewish contributions to science. Concentrating on the city centre (1st and 9th districts), the tour will show landmarks representing Jewish participation in Austrian economics, culture and politics, and also of the persecution and murder of Jews during the Nazi period.
Gerhard Milchram, born 1962, studies of History, Journalism and Communications in Vienna, since 1995 research projects for the Institute for the History of the Jews in Austria, since 1997 curator at the Jewish Museum in Vienna.
Exhibitions: 1848-The Fatal Revolution (1998); together with Oz Almog: E.M. Lilien: Art Noveau – Zionism – Erotics (1999 Vienna and Braunschweig).
Coordinator of the Jewish Museum of the project "Judenplatz".
