| Those that suffered and survived National Socialism, and came from countries of the former Soviet Union were prevented for asking for compensation until 1991. They suffered the consequences from the State and from industry. |

| Michael Stiller was born in1945. He grew up in Hirschberg/Schlesian after his parents fled from Upper Austria. He attended the Jesuit College Grammar School in Linz. From 1963-1967 he studied German, History and Law in Munich and Wurzburg. In 1967 he obtained a scholarship to go to the German School of Journalism in Munich. Since 1968, he has been working for the 'Suedeutschen Zeitung' (South German Daily), as a sub editor responsible for home affairs, right-wing extremism and the treatment of the victims of National Socialism. 1989 saw the publication of his book : "The Republicans" (Pub: Wilhelm Hayne Munich). In 1988 and 1994 he was awarded the "Waechterpreis' from the German daily press. |
