Genocide and Rememberance in Rwanda 1999. Common points and differences
I will speak about our genocide; common points and differences with the genocide of the Jews; post genocide problems in Rwanda (justice and national reconciliation; battle against forgivness and revisionism ...); about our organisation "IBUKA" (remember); what it is and what it does for resolving those problems and for helping the survivors of genocide.
Gerard Rwagasana, rwandees nationality; born 16/09/1946; university studies in Moscow (master of science 1971; doctorate studies in didactics of physics 1987-1991);lecturer in physics at the national university of rwanda 1971-73; in Burundi 1973-78; united nations volunteer -lecturer in Niger -1978-1980; U.N. translator's training course in Addis ababa (Ethiopia) 1980-8; lecturer and senior lecturer in physics at the University Marien Ngouabi at Brazzaville(congo) 1981-1994; and since 1994 december senior lecturer at the National university of rwanda. Member of the board of the association of the survivors of the genocide IBUKA since 1997; member of the commission of justice of IBUKA; chairman of the commission of justice of the association of the survivors of the genocide in the prefecture of Butare ( south of rwanda)
