| Responses to the "Wehrmacht Exhibition" in Austria |

| To date, the exhibition "War of Extermination Crimes of the Wehrmacht 1941 -1944" has been shown in six Austrian towns. It has triggered a range of strong reactions from denial of the crimes to enthusiastic assent. In this workshop, we will discuss the different reactions and their causes. |

| Walter Manoschek studied Political Science and is an assistant at the Political Science Institute at the University of Vienna. He is the co-curator of the exhibition: "The war of destruction. The crimes of the Wehrmacht from 1941-1944", organised by the Hamburg Institute for Social Research. Publications include: "Serbia is Jew- free"; " The Politics of Military Occupation and the Destruction of the Jews from 1941-1942", and he is the contributing writer to the "Journal of the Research Institute of Military History", second edition, Munich 1995. |
