The institute for Comparative History Science was founded as an independent institute by academics involved in teaching, sociology and research. The institute has focused on teaching and research to do with the Shoah and the development of various biographical work. The Institute, in conjunction with other organisations organises seminars, days and conferences on the Shoah and its after-effects.

Dr. Christian Staffa was born in 1959. He studied Theology in Berlin, Tuebingen and Prague and co-founded The Institute for Comparative History with Dr. Manfred Jurgovsky. Since 1999 he has been the director of Action Reconciliation.

Sigrid Mueller was born in 1962. She studied the psychology and theory of child rearing in Frankfurt and Berlin. She has worked for various memorial institutes in education and visitor research. Since 1997 she has been working at the Institute for comparative history.
